During the internship, I was assigned the project of revamping the Electrical and Computer Engineering website. The website had not been updated since early 2000s, and cluttered with too many repetitive pages. The client wanted to primarily improve the future and current students pages. Students would then be able to more easily access information.
I created flowcharts of the website structure to understand the problems. With the flowcharts, it was easier to see which pages are repetitive, and how information can be categorized differently. The flowcharts emphasized the necessity of a redesign. Following this process, I utilized Google Analytics to better understand which pages are accessed the most, and where visitors are having trouble navigating. Based off the research, I created a few website prototypes - to see how information can be placed with an efficient hierarchy. This ultimately improved the website and made navigation much easier.
